Homemade Almond Butter Recipe
Almond butter is an absolute staple around our household, so much that I can rarely keep it stocked! I’ve found that it can be quite the expensive habit to keep up, and that actually it is much more economical to make homemade almond butter.
Homemade Almond Butter Recipe:
Almonds + Blender + Time. Seriously! It is that easy.
Ingredients / Tools
- Organic Almonds (I’ve found that about 18 oz of whole almonds will give you 16 oz of almond butter)
- Ninja Professional Blender (BL660)
(We LOVE our Ninja!)
- Parchment Paper
- Baking Sheet
- Patience
The secret: Roast the almonds in the oven at 250 degrees for about 15 minutes to release their oils.
Second secret: keep on blending. Your almonds will be a wet sand consistency for what will feel like an eternity. You will think that you did something wrong, that I am wrong, and that there is no way this crumbly mess will turn into almond butter. Trust me, keep on blending. It will turn into creamy smooth almond butter!
Homemade Almond Butter Recipe:
-
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees
-
Pour almonds onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Roast for 15 minutes
-
Pour roasted almonds into food processor.
-
Blend for approximately 20 minutes- or until creamy. You many need to stop periodically and scrape down the sides of the processor.
-
Nice job you- you made homemade almond butter!
I love almond butter on just about everything, but my very favorite is to come home after a long day at work, and have a huge spoonful right out of the jar. 😀 How will you enjoy your homemade almond butter?
